THERAPY SERVICE FOR CHILDREN
ABA & Behavioral Therapy, Mental Health Consulting & Speech Therapy for Early Childhood
FSG is committed to making a difference in the lives of children in all of our programs and communities. These particular specialized professional and technical services were developed out of necessity. Nearly 60% of our partnering agencies are Early Childhood programs and we clearly saw the need to provide more specialized support services for our centers. By offering services including Mental Health Consulting, ABA and Behavioral Therapy, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy we try to foster development to provide children with more opportunities so they are able to maximize their potential. We rolled out these services in 2018 to mainly work with children experiencing developmental issues and delay.
-
Occupational Therapy: Our Occupational Therapists develop activities that support children in their everyday tasks. We support children in improving their cognitive, sensory, physical, and motor skills. OT is a truly great service for children because it increases confidence and self esteem.
-
Speech Therapy/Pathology: Our Speech Pathologists work with children experiencing communication and language development delays. Services are provided directly in the classroom working hand-in-hand with the child. Our Pathologists in most cases will assess, diagnose, and treat. A lot of our children that receive ABA and autism therapy have communication and language development delays.
-
Applies Behavioral Analysis (ABA): This therapy focuses on supporting children that are on the Autism spectrum. The therapist focuses on helping the child develop new habits and learning new skills. By using key principles and tools the goal is to reduce inappropriate behavior while increasing appropriate behavior and actions.
-
Mental Health Consulting: Our mental health professionals provide guidance and model developmentally appropriate activities for children. Additionally, they work with children by implementing, and using social emotional screening and assessment tools. Children will learn and develop methods to express and regulate their emotions.
